Dust there and a lot of atmosphere here won’t be helping much... 

A nice image taken in difficult conditions Steve, showing caps and contrasting regions, so well done,

Yeah, dust mate. Had a look the other night and there was the hint of the polar caps, but nothing else even with different filters.

There is a massive dust storm which is affecting the probes on Mars , NASA said it could last for weeks so your image is very good Steve

I was checking to see if anyone had seen or photographed Mars. For technical and weather reasons, not to mention work, I have neither seen nor imaged it. It seems a shame that the opportunity we have waited for for so long is ruined by the dust storm. I'm really pleased for you that you captured some detail. Well done!
