Popular Post +Derbyshire Dave Posted August 2, 2018 Popular Post Share Posted August 2, 2018 This is the nebulosity in the Cygnus constellation around Sadr (Gamma Cygni- the bright star in the shot) I took this two nights ago. Modified Canon 1300D plus a CLS light pollution filter. Ten 3 minute exposures at ISO 800, 5 darks and 15 bias files were added. So 30 minutesonly, could have done with some more time on it.. I think that the star cluster at the bottom of the picture is the open cluster NGC 6910, if anyone could confirm that I'd appreciate it.. Thanks Sheila, I’d love to add some more data, unfortunately my rig won’t allow me to go back to the same position with enough accuracy, so all my shots have to be single session. I now have the 1300D controlled by APT, and have managed to get both near and far plate solving working, but my Vixen Mount is not computer (I.e Ascom) controlled, so I can’t ‘Goto’ that position. My main aim for this year is to get an Ascom contriolled Mount.to allow me to do this. I guess I could have a go with the Vixen and try and lock onto the co-ordinates reported by the plate solving if I can keep the camera position the same...
