Popular Post Doc Posted August 18, 2018 Popular Post Share Posted August 18, 2018 While walking aroud Skylarks I caught a view of the Ruddy Darter my first ever sighting of one that I can remember. I had to be quick and this was my only photo. The only for sure way of telling the difference between a Common Darter and Ruddy Darter is the Ruddy Darters legs are all black while the Common Darter has a white stripe on it's legs. With massive compound eyes like that, I would imagine they can see almost 360 degrees around themselves in every direction but below. They've got it all covered.
