M45 rides again

Well, here we go again and I expect more from others and myself. It is like an old friend and, even though many of you and even my near-future self hope to knock the socks of this one, It's nice to see it again. I wonder, at times, how many autumns I will be snapping it. At 63, I never know how long I've got or even if my eyesight may go before I do. It's a reminder of our mortality.

Anyway, here it is widefield with my DSLR, while the close-up is merrily going through DSS while I browse the forums:

I know what you mean....seeing it last night then watching Orion rise in the early hours is a sure reminder winter is well on its way

One of my very first astro images last year, and pretty ropey it was too!

Hopefully, tonight's second attempt of mine is an improvement...
