Found Andromeda at last.

I was planning on trying out my new focuser last night at about 1.30am as I'm off work today and could stay up .

Anyway as the moon began to set at approx 3.am I noticed just how clear and stable the night sky was.

After a brief look over Orion i decided to grab my phone and use an app to find out where Andromeda was .

Using the phone app whilst looking up in the West I could make out a fuzzy blob.

Managed to finally get it in view with my finder scope and popped my 26mm nagler in the diagonal and gave it time to cool.

Wow finally found Andromeda?

The 26mm gave me a great view.

I then moved on to a 17mm ethos and spent a good 30 mins trying to take in as much detail as possible.

Got tired by 3.30am so packed away kit and just had a good look around the night sky. With my naked eyes.it was really clear best I've seen in ages.

BAZ

I reckon that is one of your astronomical milestones well and truly passed. It's a real buzz when you first clock it, well done.
