They are whoppers!

Would it be possible to make a counter weight system up for the parallelogram mount so that it balances out and stops it's urge to creep?

OK so the final configuration is an application of Occam's Razor: the 8x40s and iPad holder have gone.  The two dovetail rails have been swapped around so the big one is now horizontal and provides much better support for the binoculars.  It has also been trimmed so it fits in the case still attached to the bins (they are never going to be used other than on this AZ5 mount).

Star-hopping proved to be easier than expected, so the red dot finder is now clamped to the mounting bar with some B&Q terry clips and is all that is needed.

The rising column on the Orion tripod means I don't have to stoop to look through the bins and I don't have to buy an observing chair.  Yet.  Result!

Hi

What L bracket are you using on the alt as mount for your bins?

I've been looking for a while.

FLO sell 1 for £20 but I'm not sure if it's sturdy enough.

To be used with celestron 15x70s

It's the Skymaster one from FLO.  Held my 15x70s no trouble.
