Bahtinov masks

Just wondering where you all buy Bahtinov masks from.

I'm going to need several different sizes, and don't want to throw too much more money down this money pit at the moment. ?

Can't be bothered to get the stanley knife out, so are there any bargain basement 99p shop versions?

I must admit i buy from Morris Engraving on e bay as he is reliable, but definitely not cheap, but the masks are good and I have never had to

replace one.  Apparently now you need only one per scope and do not need separate ones for reduced and extended, you just increase the integration time

according to him and it is fine, I was told this only last week as I ordered one for the Tak 85.  First time I bought them i had 3 for each scope.

What sizes do you need.

I have apertures of 80mm, 120mm and 152mm.

If needed I also have accurate measurements for the internal and external diameters of the dew shields.

Cheers,
Pete.

Marvellous thanks Graham, here you go...

Aperture, FL, dew shield inner, outer diam.

80mm, 400mm, 102mm, 110mm
120mm, 600mm, 137mm, 143mm
152mm, 760mm, 201mm, 206mm

Just to complicate matters, I also have an Altair Astro 0.8x reducer that I expect to use every time for imaging on these scopes, so the focal lengths should be reduced to 320mm, 480mm and 608mm respectively.

Hi Pete

Have to do it at home as the security here wont let me do it.

Thanks very much Graham, but if it is a problem or awkward for you I can always get them elsewhere. ?

There's no rush, RVO have just told me my AZEQ5 will be at least another week.

I've only ever brought the one Pete : if i remember it was on UKABS used for my C9.25

.....and it arrived in 2 pieces ?

As it was only a tenner, i couldn't be bothered to make a fuss so i wrote it off.

But i know FLO sell them.

I will probably get my next one from there for my 'retirement scope' as they have the exact one for that scope.

They are about £15 so not too bad.

Here you go Pete.

Just got to clean and Anodize them.

All designed to fit over your dew shields.

You just need to get yourself a couple of longish plastic M8 sets. ( Bolts threaded all the way up )

These will screw through the holes and then the whole thing will rest on them in front of your scope.
