I like the spikes.

Downside to this sort of stuff is it reduces your aperture.

The more you stick in the end of a newt the less light comes in.

Are we taking imaging or for visual use here...??

The spikes in my OO Dobsonian are oversized IMO, so much so that i feel they (and the monster primary mirror clips)

actually degrade planetary views.

One of my future Dob upgrades will be to fit a new curved spider.

I have this company on my radar.....more American gear to import...!!! 😀

I'm impressed by your French by the way David.....😉

That's a useful website thanks Rob. 👍

I like the idea of curved spider vanes more than the printed anti-aigrettes that block more light.

Imaging, not that I’m changing , I never relalized  you could rid spikes by design, I thought spikes were  always there on a newt

Not necessarily.....certain designs such as the old Meade Schmitt Newtonians don't have them.

But when you seal up the tube (a large tube) you seal in tube currents as well.

So, like alot of things in this hobby, you remove one problem, and another one takes its place.
