Dear all

Many thanks to Carolyn Bedwell and Martin Morgan-Taylor for drawing our attention to this:

Ann

The documentary "The City

Dark" is being shown at Phoenix Square in Leicester on Sunday 20 May

at 16:45. The film is being shown around the UK, but it I think it is

one-off screenings like this.

>>

A feature documentary about light pollution and the disappearing night

sky. After moving to light-polluted New York City, filmmaker Ian

Cheney unravels the myriad implications of a globe glittering with

lights and asks: Do we need the dark?

BTW On Leicester City council's website it says: "Leicester Libraries

members get 10% off at Phoenix Square! Show your library card at

Phoenix Square and get 10% off normal cinema ticket prices including

concessions. (One discounted ticket per library card shown. Discount

cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.)"
