Recommended Posts

Daz Type-R

All,

February 23rd 2019 is the first monthly meet of the year at the Wymeswold darksite, start time of 19:30.

Moon does not rise until midnight so “W” word permitting we should get some decent dark sky views.

Tea, coffee and a few biscuits will be on offer for the usual donation of £1, please remember your mug!

We also have a few EMS branded mugs for sale, priced £3 if anybody wants one.

Any scope related issues or anything that needs looking at, please shout up so we can bring the relevant tools ETC, also if directions are needed, please speak to a member of staff.

Any questions, please shout up.

Clear skies,

Daz.

I can't, it's not much as you don't want to generate too much heat. I'll have a look next time I get down the shed.

Thanks for the info,

but my secondary mirror is different to the ones in skywatcher scope and similar models. Where on on my old skywatcher dob I brought a heat strip and simply glue it on with the conductor gel. The secondary on the explore Scientific has like a metal plate on the back of it.

will show everyone at the meet.

cheers

Hi everyone.  Assuming clear skies, would anyone mind if I bring my other half? - she's not a dark site member (yet) but I'm hoping someone will convince her ?

I've never been to a dark sky meet before, so it will be good to meet you all.

Hi, more than welcome, but even if it is cloudy, still come along, then you get to meet some of the guys and gals who make up the group.

I'll be there. I'll be bringing a guest with me tonight who will be interested in having a look at a few things.  See you all soon.

Nice to see everyone and have a chinwag.

Shame about the clouds.....a few stars (about a dozen) were visible,

i looked at  2 or 3 doubles.

All in all a disappointing evening to view the night sky.

I feel like i need to try again soon.

Maybe a trip up to Belper midweek if anyone fancies it.....??

Hi Mick,

Its only showing as 'Green' on Tuesday night for me.....

Wednesday onwards is coloured 'Red' and Monday is a bit of a mixed bag.

I'm working Monday PM but am free Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday PMs

so shall we tentatively go with the Tuesday evening ??

The weather on Tuesday looks ideal.
