Its always nice to let someone have a look at whats up there, especially if they've never done it before.

One of the best parts of the hobby for me for sure.

Its a pity the moon was full (a bit bright !!) with no craters, or no big planets around to see.

How uncanny! ?

 

I was just about to post about my 4 yr old son's very first foray into stargazing with my 8" Dob last night. Got a very similar image of him gazing into the eyepiece too!

 

Would you believe, we were observing the same objects as well (well apart from Sirius instead of your Betelgeuse)!

Most kids love seeing the Moon and Saturn's rings for the first time. I'm in a minority of one as I love viewing and snapping Tycho's rays, Plato, Grimaldi and other features around full moon.
