AZ-EQ5 DEC MOTOR NOT WORKING.

Starman 1967

They are surface mounted.

If you look at the bottom next to the Pos and neg symbols on the board you will see a small silver coloured tag.

Hit them with the tip of your small soldering iron and it will come off the board.

Get back onto the supplier and tell them you need surface mount Caps.

Hi graham I’ve been in touch and they are now saying that the caps that size wil be 35 volt 47uf as they and there suppliers don’t list

a 50 volt 47uf clip in cap that size.

here is the cap that they say it is.

https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/2059647.pdf

i measured the cap and it was 6mm diameter and approx 7mm tall.

Quite possible

Go for it.

Most if not all skywatcher motors run at 35 volts.

Like I said the print on your caps don't relate to normal data sheets.

Well I’ve managed to solder 3 new caps on but it still doesn’t work. Bummer. I’m going to have to wait. I’m gutted cos I've just collected my new S.W evoguide too.
