Guest Posted February 26, 2019 Share Posted February 26, 2019 ... that I saw Mercury. I checked it with binoculars last night but could not detect any phase. I have managed to detect a 50% phase in binoculars before, though. It was too low to catch in a telescope but I tried a few photos with my DSLR but have not processed them yet. At one time, there were very few amateur photos of Mercury out there and there's still probably less than 1 000 on the 'net. It was like seeing an old friend I hadn't seen for years.
