Open Dome Event 9th May - Black Holes

Recommended Posts

The next open dome event at the Malcolm Parry Observatory Long Eaton, is next week on Thursday the 9th May starting at 7pm. The subject will be Black Holes and will be presented by Mr M.Perkins. We shall look at how black holes are formed, what they are and the recent developments in their detection. We’ll also try and answer the question of which came first, the Galaxy or the black hole?

Doors open at 6.30pm with refreshments available. If the weather allows there may be opportunity for some solar observing prior to the talk.

As always, under 16’s are welcome but should be accompanied by an adult please. A suggested donation of £2 is appreciated towards the cost of refreshments etc. Booking is not required but larger groups are requested to notify us in advance please.
