Looking for a particular star atlas

Hi guys

years ago I used to own a brilliant star atlas for want of a better term

It was hard backed and it’s content was purely made up of on adjoining pages comprising a photographic plate of a small area of the sky on the one page and I think an inverse equivalent (white background with black stars) on the opposite page. I also believe that there was text explaining the notable objects within the area of sky shown.

It covered the entire northern and Southern Hemispheres. I am pretty sure it was in the region of 400 pages in content.

Racking my memory I think it was either a Collins or Phillips publication.

would any of you guys be able to give me a lead as to what this book was as I would love to try and obtain a copy.

I believe the book was approx 8” x 5” x 1.25” thick

 cheers

Graham

Was it Norton's Star atlas ??

El Goog tells me it was first published in 1910.

Plenty of years to choose from.....

Its still going to this day : Ian Ridpath (he used to host Astrofest in London) is the current editor.
