Guest Posted May 14, 2019 Share Posted May 14, 2019 For those of you who are new to this, I use FULL APERTURE SOLAR FILTERS only. I have sometimes managed to see sunspots in smaller instruments but I normally use 15x70 bins. I usually make drawings from my observations, an example of which is below: I am increasingly using my DSLR on its own for quick "grab and go" snapping but "bin scanning" is my choice when I'm away from home. I often check for positions with bins when sunspots are faint and I might not get them on camera. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
