Aggh, colours have come out poor again. They were really bright as I inserted them, but have become really muted again after I placed the post. Grrrrrrrr

PLEASE CLICK ON INDIVIDUAL PICTURES TO SEE TRUE COLOURS IN FLICKR!

ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME SORT THESE COLOURS OUT WILL BE REWARDED WITH BEER!!!!!!!!

Mick and Craig have already tried to help here. Mick's suggestion was to go to the photostream in Flickr, select the image, DO NOT OPEN IT, but right click, and click "Copy Link Location". This doesn't seem to work now, anyone who can help me here, I'd really appreciate it..

This may shed light Dave  found on the net  maybe worth trying a different browser to see if there is a difference, what browser are you using , nice pictures btw .

If you don't have your color space set to "sRGB" in whatever editing tool you use, then most browsers will give random results at best. It might be a setting on your camera, especially if you're shooting RAW format, but whatever you're using for final output should have a setting available, and it should be set to "sRGB". There are hundreds of proprietary color space options, many specific to manufacturer or camera or software. When editing for printing it's useful to have these options, but when displaying on the internet, you have to use the one that most browsers can parse.

You might also check, and this is more rare since it's a printing setting only, but look to make sure you aren't set for "CMYK". This level of washing out is something I see when a viewer/browser attempts to display a CMYK image as RGB.

Morning David. Hope weather is good in Northampton.

I'm using Firefox generally, on a PC.

The colour space of the original photo is set to sRGB. I see this when I open the original picture in Photoshop, and if I upload to Flickr, and then download a copy, the downloaded image still says sRGB.

HOWEVER.. I asked Craig about this, and he told me..

here's an extract of the EXIF data from Flickr:

Color Mode - RGB
ICCProfile Name - ProPhoto RGB

But I'm not sure how he did that.

I wonder if it happens if you have a pro account on Flickr, or if there is a setting in Flickr that you can change Dave

Color Mode - RGB

ICCProfile Name - sRGB IEC61966-2.1

Which isn't what Craig recommended.

OK.. I Think I have a fix. I now ask to check for profile mismatches, and when it finds the embedded ProColour one, I choose 'Convert to working RGB.

THESE SHOULD NOW LOOK OK! (Thanks guys!)
