Teflon washer or trick

So I tried the 48mm Idas D2 filter on the frac in between eos adapter and frac , nearly got it stuck can you get very thin washers either Teflon or delrim that I can fit on frac to stop metal on metal or is there a trick I can use to stop it sticking tight , I didn’t tighten it on either.

You can put a very thin smear of petroleum jelly on the threads.

Make sure you don't get it on anything else.

Use a tiny paint brush to apply it.

Best way to do it is screw the filter in a couple of threads then paint the jelly on.

This way you won't get any on the glass.

Once screwed up tight clean any excess off.

Aluminium to aluminium threads are not the best things in the world.

Because the Aluminium is so soft the threads have a bad habit of picking up on each other.

Once Anodised it is even worse because the anodising makes the surfaces rough.

The absolute best stuff to use is animal Tallow but that is hard to come by now.

I had to use heat to remove a filter from my atik once, the threads had bound so tight not even a gator strap could shift it.

I lapped the threads a few times with the thinnest smear of lapping paste, this took the edge off the anodising. Never stuck since.
