Howie Glatter Collimator - NOT FOUND

Graham

Recommended Posts

Hi all
I am looking for a Howie Glatter Collimator
with Concentric Circle Holographic attachment.

Looking to buy or borrow one of these so I can collimate my big scope.

Thank you

Graham

If only you lived a bit closer Graham, i'd happily lend you mine.

They are a beautifully made and machined collimator.

There were in short supply after Howie sadly passed away last year.

But i believe "Starlight Instruments' (who make Feathertouch focusers) have bought out

his business and have carried on making them.

For the quality i don't think they are over priced either.

FLO is your UK stockist if you are struggling to source one.

They used to come in 3 laser options ; a red, a brighter red and a green.

I went for the 'normal red' but tbh, even that is a little on the bright side.

When i say bright, i mean it over whelmed the doughnut on the primary.

BUT.....they now sell a custom made 'dimmer switch' which is perfect and you can really dim it down to your needs.

Of course, i'm only using a 1200fl scope. Yours is much bigger, so you may need something brighter.

Thanks Rob.

Looked on FLO and they are out of stock.

Put an ad in ABS and had a reply from someone who wants to sell theirs.

Just waiting for a reply back.

Well that is me sorted.

Just purchased one from someone on ABS.

Green Laser with an assortment of Holographic lenses.

Good work.

You will be pleased with it, i'm sure.

Remember the dimmer switch option is there if its too bright.

Yup will probably need one if I use it at night.

The green one has the advantage of being able to use it in the day time.

Howie Glatter arrived this morning.

What a piece of kit.

Superbly engineered.
