Picture of the month august 2019

The nights are starting to get a bit longer and we have even had some clear nights which has been great for the imagers and they have been busy so we have a fine crop of images to look through this month.

and followed it with an in depth Pelican

plus a nice wide M31

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16518-m31-the-andromeda-galaxy/

The Wizard was the subject for Bassinghamobservatory here

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16405-wizard-nebula-hoo/

and here

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16513-wizzard-nebula-in-sho/

Another Pelican from Derbyshire Dave

and here

Lunar

A very atmospheric daytime shot from ChrisP

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16467-moon-shuttle/

A thin crescent from Ibbo

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16522-luna-27-8-2019/

Planetary

Only Graham posting this month

Saturn

Sorry Graham but the Jupiter image wont open.

Solar

A great ISS transit from Ibbo

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16423-iss-transit/

plus some prom action

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16505-sol-26-8-2019-ha/

Graham also bagged the prom action

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16499-solar-from-today-25082019/

Widefield

M31 in very widefield from ChrisP

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16489-m31-and-surrounding-star-field/

and Cygnus in very widefield

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16460-the-hydrogen-of-cygnus/

plus the NA and Pelican

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/16487-n-america-pelican-in-ha-and-first-light-my-new-lens/

Another difficult month to judge due to the great images but I have to take my hat off to Ibbo and the Squid, why? For the sheer dedication bordering on obsession required to bag this faint object. So Ibbos Squid gets my vote this month

Steve,

That is amazing.  The squid just hangs there beautifully.  I simply can't contemplate that long an integration time

Your sheer persistance and doggedness in taming this is an inspiration to us all..

That's a labour of love, or hate, I am not sure which, but a bloody good effort Steve. 2.89 days wow.

Thanks for the round up Phil, much appreciated.
