Well that was interesting! Did my first PA and alignment in the dark, all OK except;

The shed doesn't block any sky due to a large conifer hedge at that height 2 doors down

BUT the gable top does block a portion of sky that I like to image in (the darkest region)

where Altair is tonight so; having not used the shed base could I remove the gable ends

and replace it with a flat (small camber for the rain) roof, ie; the base??

That's the idea I have David, by using the base and sloping it slightly. I need to spend some time measuring and check!

I have to replace the roof felt anyway as it's just temporary.( They forgot to send the felt which is arriving today!)

Well a bit more done, valancing around the top to secure the roof felt and an extra lock on the doors.

Ready for painting now, same colours as the shed.

Painted and finished (although it might need another coat when it's completely dry??)

  • 2 weeks later...

Well second coat of Cuprinol now on and dry and that's it finished!

Can't decide whether to add an 8" extension on the NEQ6 to get just a bit more sky

but that would mean slightly rotating the scope which isn't really a problem?

Any comments on that please?
