As an avid Alt-az mount user i've been following the thread with interest.

It won't be cheap though, once encoders, DSCs tripod etc are factored in i would expect it to be into 4 figure territory.

FLO will be taking it to the IAS next month, so i'll get to see it close up.

Had i not got the DM6, and had i been in the market for one, i might have been interested.

I like the dual saddle design (and counterweight option if req) and the slow motion controls.

My own DM6 doesn't have either slow motions or counterweights but in truth, it doesn't need them.

Its simplicity itself to use and with encoders / dsc's installed it ticks all the boxes EXCEPT motorisation, and i have 'Option B' if i want that.

I much prefer the DM6 to use visually, the Panther is all very well, but its a PITA to set up.

Good to see manufactures designing and producing these Alt-az mounts

Theres not that many options, certainly if you want to mount a 5" or similar refractor or bigger SCT etc
