Audio recording in Spectrum Lab

Recommended Posts

Trying to get this working with out much success .

It is producing WAV files but there is no detected hit on it just the background hiss.

Total time of the WAV file is that of the pre and post settings

This is my settings.

I have tried both the " triggered " and " universal trigger "

The only major difference I can see is the sampling rate.

Yours is 12 ks/s mine is 192 ks/s

going to decimate mine down to 24 and see what happens.

Graham,

One thing I do notice is the difference in out audio sample rates.  Mine is down at 12kS/s  (12000)

This explains something about decimating the incoming signal:

Not really sure it would make much of a difference though

I notice you L5 trigger box is yellow , this is in post record mode.

I have pushed up my volume to 50 db to get it to turn green which is the stand by mode.

My L5 is yellow when waiting for a trigger ..... once the trigger is met it turns green when recording then goes back yellow once recording stops.

I need to reset mine 🤡

clicked on too many buttons

Oh I've done a LOT of that in the past .....

I now take a backup everytime I start to mess around with it, it's just too easy to break -- the trouble is I've now got lots of backups 😂

Graham,

I've just done a reboot of my detector laptop and realised something ...... After a reboot or Spec Lab restart I have to manually turn audio recording on/off ... regardless of trigger settings.

The trigger levels don't change, just wether Speclab acts on it.

I looked at your screenshot and and can see your top button on the left shows the .wav file name.  Does this do anything when clicked?

It will show any command by right clicking on the button

The shows the button I have and the commands entered in it to turn audio logging on/off.  I don't think it's linked specifically to my script.

It might be worth entering this in one of your spare numbered buttons and see if it makes a difference.

If it doesn't do anything you can just delete the text and put  the number back   ( i.e.   "Button #10"  )

Morning Al.

Cannot see which button you mean with the .wav file name.

Have set up the button

I was looking at your full screenshot on the first post.

Just below the spectrum and above the 'capture now' button, there is one with a wav file name on it.

Wasn't sure if that was an audio record on/off button or just a tile showing the current .wav file name.

I have reset it back to my original config settings and the audio can do one.

I give up with it.

There must be another way around this.

Trying out another method.

Downloaded a sound activated recorder.

All I need now is some hits to test it out 😴
