That is sad news indeed 😲

She did so much for astronomy, and when my old astro society (DDAS) built their observatory in the late 80's

it was Heather who came along to open it.

RIP Heather

Sad news.

It was her and Patrick Moore that got me into stargazing.

Always liked her enthusiasm when she talked about astronomy.

Sad news.  Will always remember occasionally going for a pint (or two) with her and others after the BAA monthly Wednesday meetings in London during the mid 80's before catching the last train back to Loughborough.

"Shambolic old men in tweed jackets" was one of her more amusing one liners, when she described

our astronomy fraternity back in the day when she first came on the scene.

I don't think we have any 'shambolic old men in tweed jackets' at EMS......? 🤔

Or do we.....? 😄😉
