Nuce image Clive, The nifty fifty is a good lens but wide ooen stars get a bit distirted, I stoo mine down to f4 which sharpens the stars uo, It dies mean you have to grab more ecposure but it gives a ckeaner image.

I agree that at F4 it gives excellent images but having only a limited time, I compromised and used F2.8 to keep the exposures short.
