What bat is this?

Does anyone know their bat species? I caught this while having a walk in Wollaton Park. I first saw it through my bins and couldn't make it out, it was either a dead bird or maybe a bat so took a photo. It's not a great photo because how far away it was. The hole size is maybe 60mm in diameter.

I don't think its a Pipistrelle which are the small ones.

We occasionally have had them roost in out roof-space before.

They are tiny and only need a 10-15mm gap for entry to their roost.

looking online it appears this one could be a young pre adult Noctule bat ?

And they like tree holes to roost in.

Thanks guys. Over on SGL someone said Daubentons Bat. I'll try and compare photos when I get time.

I'm thinking Noctule bat as well Rob. They roost in tree holes and hunt above the trees for insects. They are hibinate between November and April so this one is an early riser.

I would say noctule as well.

Saw a couple end of last month flying late afternoon - reckon they had been disturbed.

+1 for Noctule Bat, they prefer holes in trees and that fits the photo.. 👍
