Nice video, well done for finding it, not the sort of target you would trust GOTO with it being that close to the sun.

I do all this with a camera no eye near the scope .

 

There is no finder scope on the telescope while doing this.

 

And yes I do use GOTO on a polar aligned mount, I first locate the sun using a solar filter and sync the mount then slew to venus without the cam in the drawtube using projection method I make sure the sun is not in the FOV then attach the camera.

 

 I do not rush and double and treble make sure the filter is in place while centreing ther sun.

 

I used the moon today to get initial focus.
