Popular Post +Derbyshire Dave Posted June 9, 2020 Popular Post Share Posted June 9, 2020 Cath and I went out to meet two friends for a socially distanced walk near the Belper Dark Sky site this morning. Just after crossing Whatstandwell Bridge I spotted a badger cub lying on the side of the road. Fliipping awkward place to stop, but stopped and it looked uncomfortable but not actually in pain. So I picked it up in a towel and very shortly it was in a supermarket carrier bag. Delivered it to a friend we know with badger connections .. we'll let you know the outcome.. Bizarre after us looking at badgers last week. I've never found a live cub by the road before, and it wasn't near where we were.. It's been at the vets for over 24 hours, and he says that it kept having fits, and that it's possible that it might even have been suffering from the results of poison. Quite near to a farm, so rat poison could have been laid I guess. This is not the report I'd hoped to be able tp pass onto you. Particularly with us at tge moment, we,ve been watching a mum and 2 cubs for the past month on trail cam but the past week theres only mum and one cub.
