You got a sunspot on there Phil 👌

I had been following the sunspots on the Learmonth and Big Bear images and it was my first sight for a few days. Had I not been on a lunch break and having to work in the afternoon, I would have used my Mak and Coronado PST. However, I have found a DSLR and Baader filter is a good grab-and-go method. Imaging at 300mm focal length is quite hard and I probably have as many fails as successes. The key is to take lots of exposures at slightly different focus settings and hope one comes out just right.

This filter what is it.

Your image is in colour so it is not a normal white light film ???

It's a home-made filter made from Baader film. I used just the green channel and added a little false colour for artistic effect.
