Astap for stacking

As an alternative to DSS i atried Astap for stacking last night, already having it for platesolving i read a  comment the other day from Startools developer Ivo that he rates it for stacking comparing its stacking ability as good as pixinsight which he rates highly for stacking and it’s free as well , so there is only a couple of settings to tweak so you get a stacked image that had had no colour tweaking or altered data , actually really easy to use, load lights , darks etc though never had a bias tab I assume they go in dark flats tab I will check with Hans the developer on that , once analyzed gives you a few option to omit bad fames then you can stack, need to see if you can stack the final stack image from multiple nights but worthy of a look if you’re bored in lockdown , easier than regim to use which had to many parameters to check and never quite got to the bottom of that program which IMO needed simplified though does give good results if you can get the settings right, now just need some fresh data to try on if clouds ever part .

Thanks David.

I am using a specialist Asteroid program directly linked to the data base at the IAU Minor Planet Center at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in the USA.
