Doc Posted February 8, 2021 Share Posted February 8, 2021 Found a giant amoeba on my walk around Melbourne Hall in Derbyshire. I would estimate it to be about 1200 microns by 400 microns ( 1.2 x 0.4 mm) It comes under the genus Pelomyxa, unsure of the species. +Ibbo, +RonC and +Graham 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Once saw a peregrine try to catch a swallow there, came down on it directly over the lake then did 90 degree turn & shot across the lake about a foot above the surface. It was just playing I expect.
