Celestron Luminos 23mm 2” Eyepiece

Personally, I wouldn't use a Luminos in a reflector faster than f/8. They're not bad in faster refractors in my experience. I have the 10mm, 15mm and 19mm.

The longer focal lengths can exhibit edge of field brightness as well as glaring on fast Newtonians. The Barlow is very good though. Luminos work well in Mak's and SCT's. I don't know why they work better in faster refractors. Even then there is still some EOFB.

I've even had problems with their undercuts.

19mm Luminos that got inextricably entangled in a Baader dielectric diagonal requiring a disassembly of both.

They're not a bad EP in the right scope. I can see why they have a peculiar reputation.
