Popular Post +RonC Posted April 4, 2021 Popular Post Share Posted April 4, 2021 (edited) Thanks to a good clear night last night I finished doing my exposure tests using M51 and M101. The problem I had with using the Unity Gain on the Hypercam was that not enough stars could be counted on DSS but now I've decided to double the gain to 800 and it seems to have been successful on both targets. I've also reverted to binning at 2x2 as my laptop was suffering with 40+ Mb subs!! M51 36 x 180s Gain 800+Darks,flats and Dark flats. M101 15 x 180s Gain 800+Darks, Flats and Dark Flats.
