Cooling Fan for 10” flex tube Dob

Recommended Posts

Hi guys ,I have a Skywatcher 250px flex tube Dob and I have an Astrozap light shroud on it.

I am considering getting a primary mirror cooling fan for the scope.

Does anyone know much about these fans and would I get the benefit on my flex tube Dob?

Can anyone suggest where I can get one that would attach to the hole pattern on the end of my Dob?

thanks

Graham

This is my home made version using a silent PC fan and controller.

This is on my 150 PDS scope.

Mine blows!!! 🤫As many people will tell you one way as another.

For me I think drawing air on to the back of the primary will cool it quicker and blow currents out of the ota, and also keeps dew at bay.  Some say it will pull dust through the scope, but its never been a problem for me.

Has anyone got any recommendations as to which fan would be suitable and a possible lead to a supplier please? It sounds the way to go rather than pay an extortionate amount for a dedicated one.
