Popular Post Peter Shah Posted May 13, 2021 Popular Post Share Posted May 13, 2021 A change from the wide field stuff....NGC 4501 or M88 in Coma Berenices Imaged remotely from Spain with the RCOS 12.5 RC FLI 16803 and cropped in. Exposure times were 5hrs each in RGB and 4and a half in Luminance. Processed in Photoshop and Pixinsight. I always bin this rig at 2x2,the focal length is 2853mm which gives it 1.3 arc sec per pixel. Anything under a second and its a waste even with deconvolution .....Next trip I am hoping to put some insulation down on the floor to see if I can improve the local seeing, especially in front of the optics. I tried with my QSI . This scope is F9 so is quite slow but the FLI PL16803 is a CCD and has really deep pixels around 100,000 ADU it copes really well.
