Solar Flat Field Adapter.

Day off work today so I decided to make myself a Solar Flat Field adapter.

Made from Black Nylon.

2 part adapter with a double layer of frosted film in between.

Nice sliding fit onto the Lunt.

Just waiting for the Sun to come out now so I can test it.

I did look at them Steve but they wanted £60.00 plus $120 P&P.

If it works I will let you know.

I did start off with just a single layer of this frosted film but when I held it up to the window I could see all the lead light details so I upped it to 2 layers.

The Sun is playing hide and seek behind the clouds at the moment.

Thanks.

Yes I saw the price as well, do you think they ship them first class?

Well Steve I can report that the Flat field adapter works a treat.

I removed one of the layers to reduce exposure time and it just works.

All my dust bunnies are gone along with the gradients.

Focus on the Sun as per normal.

Pop on the adapter.

Adjust Firecapture to get an exposure of 80% on the histogram and hit Flat field.

I used a 101 frame run .

Once it had done its stuff remove the adapter readjust the exposure and carry on collection photons with out any of the imperfections.
