Milky Way Stacked

Took this about 10 days ago,  I could not get Deep sky stacker to stack my images at all, so I posted a single 30 second image. Not entirely happy bout the quality of it.

 

Re-visited the data this morning and stacked 24 x 30 second images with no issues in PixInsight. It seems to have made a good job of it, getting rid of a lot of noise, increasing the contrast and generally giving the milky way more structure.

 

Having aligned the stars, it of course blurred the foreground. So I took the stacked image and a single image for the foreground, and carefully stretched them both by the same amount in PixInsight.

Then dropped them both into Photoshop and used a mask to paint through and get a nice sharp foreground with crisp trees.

 

Taken looking at Crich. Crich Stand can be seen bottom left, with the memorial illuminated. Jupiter and Saturn low down.
