Pond clearout

Clive

Recommended Posts

Cleared the pond of the excessive amount of Egeria Crispa that's been growing since we introduced it about 7 years ago.  The amount removed is probably worth 3 figures at the price when the 5 or 6 bunches were introduced, but it's now banned by the EU as an invasive species.  Not half, I wish we had known that before we introduced it!  At least I can now seen the fish (but then again so can the Herons!).

Now that is a lot of weed 😂

And once it's drained off I need to get it to the tip, a few trips I fear!

It didn't take long for the Heron(s) to come back, 'moved along' 2 so far today (or the same one twice) - hadn't seen one around the pond this year until today (although they used to be daily visitors). Would be nice to see a Kingfisher again though, only ever seen 2 in the 30 years the pond has been there.
