Thanks Graham

I have no idea till I start 🤣

My last dealings with that sort of thing were in double Tech Drawing on a Friday afternoon when I was at school.

I will give it a go.

The putting together went great the first few prints would not stck to the plate so I gave it a coat of Pritt and thats that problem cured.

Still on the included PLA and messing with settings.

I used the supplied Steadytech 1.75mm PLA that came with mine and never looked back, prints great, 20 quid a spool mind, twice as much as the cheapest i could find at the time but the term buy cheap buy twice definitely applied to the tenner one so had to return it, it was totaly the opposite printing wise, i heard Amazons own isnt bad either although i havnt tried it..

Looking forward to seeing what you make with this 👍. I've also been thinking of taking the plunge and getting one. I have previously had things printed via 3dHubs or other online services. If you can master the design and understand the methods, the results can be superb 👍.

  • 4 months later...

My thanks to Ibbo for re-awakening an interest in 3D printing.  Last time I looked (2014) I concluded that I could easily spend £2K and end up with nothing.

Things have changed a lot since then.  Most of my stuff is designs downloaded from Thingiverse etc, but on the odd occasion I have had to use Tinkercad to make a part of a particular size/shape it has been a very rewarding experience.

Some stuff's toys and some is more useful...
