Venus Greatest Elongation March 20th

Thanks, i'll see if i can spot it.

Another notable a couple of weeks or so later on April 5 is a close Saturn / Mars conjunction in the pre dawn sky.

19 arc mins apart. Saturn is mag +0.9, Mars +1.0

Possibly a hard one to spot and maybe lost in the morning twilight so binocs may be useful.

Venus will be a similar altitude to the left so possibly a good photo opportunity.

Venus itself will be in conjunction with Jupiter on May 1st.

About the same distance apart. But another tricky one to see in the bright morning twilight.

Venus should be pretty bright so I reckon you could have until at least 06:00 before it's swallowed by daylight.

I could see it pretty easily with my 90mm StarMax from around 05:45 ~ 06:15.

I used 20mm and 14mm Bresser 60 degree 'Plossls' for 62.5x and 89x with single and double polarising filters. I may have had a hint of cloud detail, or it might have been my imagination.
