star trails and mega pixels

If taking numerous 30 second exposures of Polaris and stacking them in registax, would there be much difference in the process of collecting the images or processing them in registax, or in the final product if comparing a camera with say 6 mega pixels and one with 18 mega pixels?

Thanks,

James

Not an expert on the cameras or any side of imaging come to mention it but if you are going to be taking pictures of the stars you want to be using DSS ( Deep Sky Stacker) not Registax.

Registax is for Planets and the moon and for using webcams.

Again i'm no expert but usually more pixels means smaller pixels and thus a better detail image however I also heard that because lower mp is usually bigger pixels they grab light better so you can get more data quicker.
