Can Anyone Identify This Bird?

This bird landed in my magnolia yesterday, it looked like some sort of green parrot.

I reckon you'd need a runway, rather than a table lol.

We had them here in Darley in September, and i've seen them in Markeaton Park as well.

I've not seen them for a while ; i thought they may have gone in search of warmer climes.

 

You're fortunate to see them so close at hand. The closest they came here was in a tree (there was a pair of them) about 20 metres away.

Hopefully i can get a nice picture of them if they return next year.

 

I really like them ; its a novelty to see such an exotic looking bird.

But then, i do understand they are not a native bird, and perhaps are invasive, so other birds may be losing out a bit on food which isn't good.

 

One things for sure : you will hear them first. They don't half make a racket.
