cosmic dave
Is anyone happy to help if ELAC did a stargazing live event at huttoft school ? I've been talking to the head mistress who is very interested. Hopefully use the bottom field if clear or let the kids have a look at the scopes and put some posters up if not in the hall. Any thoughts please.

cosmic dave
Cool, let me have another word with the head teacher, we will need a few teachers around to keep the little bliters in order lol. I think it would be good for the group I will invite the local papers to get a pic. Leave it with me. Thanks Guys.

cosmic dave
will do. think it would be good to try and get the kids interested. I can remember dressing as Neil Armstrong at infant school when we did a space presentation. think doing this sort of thing makes a real lasting impression ? I think that is not a bad idea Dave but you would need to make it something more relevant to the kids of today. Thing is when we were young the Moon landings were still reasonably fresh and exciting. I think a laptop or 2 with stellarium on as this is interactive and the kids could find stuff on there and then find it in the sky if you know what i mean. Just a thought. Also would be good to plan it for a night when the crescent or first quarter moon and also jupiter are visible at a reasonably early hor.
