Guest David Pugh
When focusing using a particular setup i.e. ep, barlows, ccd etc. Are you adjusting the focus to match the setup and then everything you look at will be in focus? i.e. planets, nebulas etc. or do you need to adjust the focus for every subject? Brantuk
Hi David - you'll need to adjust the focus for most every eyepiece change and barlow setup - it's standard procedure
+Doc
Unless your eyepieces are parfocal.

BAZ
If you are imaging then have a look at a Bahtinov mask, these let you precisely obtain focus. They won't break the bank either, and if you are a bit handy, can be made DIY style. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahtinov_mask I would imagine they would be useful for visual as well. Guest David Pugh
Thanks.
glider
Yeah, make yourself a Bahtinov. Focus on a nice bright star and then unless you change EP, barlow, etc everything else should also be in focus. If you do change EP you may need to refocus, or use parfocal optics, or get some parfocal rings.
