Rock Doctor
Hi all, at one of the previous meetings at Belper, Ibbo mentioned that if you are going to get into astrophotography then sooner or later you are going to need a focuser with a controller (either handset or usb) as this reduces the amount of shake caused by hands turning knobs. Has anyone got a suggestion for a good focuser for the 1100 SCT which can either be purchased with an upgrade hand controller and/or usb controller at the same time or upgraded at a later date when cash permits. I was thinking of the Baarder steeltrack but Martin at FLO informs me that it currently is experiencing problems with the software.
Guest JohnC
I have in the past had great success with the JMI event horizon crayfords. Controled remotely with the shoestring interface.
Rock Doctor
Thanks John. I think I saw those advertised at RVO
Guest JohnC
Got mine from RVO, but times have changed a bit for them. Check stock prior to purchase! Obviously Moonlite are an option at a cost.
Rock Doctor
John, whats the difference between the EVO1 and 2? Yes I've picked up on a couple of threads that RVO have diversified into models etc and the service for astronomy appears to be suffering.

Rock Doctor
Thanks John, the difference is that EVO1 is dual speed whereas EVO2 is single speed.
Guest JohnC
They are very well made and i have no hesitation in recommending them. Just make sure you get the correct adapter 2" or 3" (i think) to fit your visual back.
Rock Doctor
Yes just noticed on the JMI webpage that there's a 3.25 inch back for larger SCTs.
