Just a quick reminder that our next meeting, this coming Tuesday Oct 23, will be the live link-up with member Dr Paul Lynam at the Lick Observatory in California. Previous link-ups with Paul when he worked at ESO Paranal in Chile have been very interesting.

Dates for your diaries: The Stargazing Live 2013 TV programmes will be broadcast from 7 - 9 January inclusive. As you will recall, we have held a number of highly successful public events for previous 'Stargazing Lives'.

This January, the following have been arranged and, as ever, your help at these will be very much appreciated. I always love these public events. There's a wonderful buzz in the air and great interest is shown by all sectors of the public.

Tues Jan 8 - the BBC East Midlands Regional Stargazing Live event at Leicester University

Fri Jan 11 - the ever-popular event at Abbey Park in conjunction with the Parks Department of the City Council.

So, please put these dates in your diary.
