First Use of the Setting Circle Setup

Well I cut up a milk bottle tonight and made 9 "milk bottle washers" 3 to go under each slide glide as when I first used the setting circle and lazy susan mod (as mentioned above) the slightest bit of heavy breathing would slew the scope. I wanted it to be smoother but that was a little excessive.

So I took it all apart again and driled small holes individually in each of the little plastic washers I had made. I put three each under each slide glide that held the moveable setting cirlcle in place and screwed the rockerbox and ground bored back toegether with the lazy susan bearing.

I mounted the OTA and it was now too stiff and "juddery" again when slewing! So I took it all apart and removed just one washer leaving two in place under each slide glide. Now it is not so lose that the wind will slew the scope but not too stiff either. I think I will be able to manually slew the scope without having to take my eye away from the eyepiece. Obviously I will move my body otherwise I may fall and hurt myself and we wouldn't want that to happen :D Lol!
