M1 from tonight.

I decided to test the new secondary mirror dew heater tonight.

Grabbing the chance of the clear sky I decided to have another crack at M1.

This is a combination of 46 subs of 120 seconds at ISO 800 and 11 subs of 60 seconds at ISO 1600.

Stacked in DSS along with 11 darks at ISO 800 and 3 at ISO 1600.

Light processing in PS 6.

Taken using the Helios 200 Newt with an unmodded Canon 350 D

Nice one Graham, how did the dew heater perform, I tested mine out last night (indoors) and it worked a treat, after about 30 minutes at full power, I could feel warmth in the secondary (not using full power out in the field, this was just a test)?

Very good for an unmodded camera.

I'm surprised you need a secondary dew heater, mine has never misted up.

Andy I don't know if its down to my location but I suffer badly from it.

My obsy is tucked away in a corner surrounded by trees so gets very little air movement.

Its great for wind protection but I fear it increases my dew problem.
