Jupiter and Europa 29/11

It has been a really difficult night with cloud constantly coming and going, plus the seeing has been down right rubbish to there being the odd moments of great clarity. This is the best so far of many captures tonight and when i get time to process them i hope to add more.

Equipment, 8 inch newt, spc900, approx 1200 frames of 1800, used registax 6 to process.

Also thanks to Stephen (Kheldar) for pointing out my error at originally identifying the moon as Io.

Like it Mark.

Decided to load up the spc and have a go at Jup myself.

If it comes out anywhere near as good as this I will be pleased.

This was taken just after Europa had crossed the disc of Jupiter. I captured some avis of the transit and hope to get time to process them later.

Bit confused, when was your image captured, date and time?

According to my moon calculator Europa was going behind Jupiter on the night of the 29th.

This image was captured last night, Europa passed in front of Jupiter and this image was taken after the transit.

Good link Andy - I've used 12Dstring in the past for fov calculation - but didn't realise there was other stuff there - nice one :)
