M45 MOSAIC

Graham

Recommended Posts

Decided to have a play whilst I await my target for tonight to appear above my roof.

Using the frame and focus capture in BYE I took a 12 panel mosaic of M45.

I then had to convert the images to JPEG in Picassa.

Once I had done this I tried to upload all 12 images into Microsoft ICE.

It was having none of it so I had to do four 3 frame mosaics and then stich the resulting 4 mosaics into one single one.

The quality is not the best but it was just an experiment to see if it was possible.

All frames were shot unguided at ISO 1600 with a 20 second exposure time.

I will have a proper go at this using 3min subs at ISO 800 some time in the future.

Thanks folks, Like I say it was a test just to see if it would work.

Next clear night I will have a go at it for real.

This time I am going to go up to at least a 30 panel mosaic so I can get the surrounding stars in as well.
